Getting to know essential oils

I feel like my life has been led to Essential oils in the same way that I was inspired and led to marry my husband. The last few years I have been living a life that I never knew I could. I think of this life as one that is closer to God and knowing myself on a deeper level. Listening to my body and doing what is best for it.

My journey started out as an obese woman in her 20’s with health problems. Everything that was wrong with me was always because I was ‘obese’. I changed my lifestyle and two years later I have lost 90 pounds and want only pure and clean things in my body.

My cousin introduced me to essential oils and gave me a few to try, Lemon, Lavender, peppermint and slim and sassy. I was already drinking a ton for water daily so I made a few immediate adjustments, I added the lemon oil in my water in the morning and evening and drank slim and sassy throughout the day. The lemon knocked out the bloat in my stomach and the slim and sassy helped control my sweet cravings. I was so excited when I received my first compliment on my flat stomach! I knew the oils were working!

Nick, my husband even got into the oils this spring when he was suffering from allergies. He did a swish/shot of lemon, lavender, and peppermint a few times a day. The oils temporarily took the itch, sneezing, and watery eyes away. He was a very suspicious about the oils but they did the job and even he couldn't deny the evidence.

I am so excited to continue to try other essential oils. I cannot wait to implement the oils more into my life. My goal is to educate myself about the oils so that I can educate others and help people live more healthy lifestyle.

Toddler Teacher

I LOVE being a toddler teacher!

I found a couple ideas that I implemented in my classroom a few weeks ago. Our theme for the week was Eric Carle, so of course I made a color sorting caterpillar. Near the caterpillar you could find a tray with the glue and paper pieces on it so the students could do the activity whenever they wanted. I watched and observed as they worked.

After the colorful caterpillar we worked on matching shapes on a butterfly. We read a story about shapes first and talked about them before I introduced the butterfly on the wall. Again, I left out the tray with shapes and glue and the students glued them on whenever they were interested.

Both activities were very successful in that it showed me who needed to learn more about colors and shapes and who was ready to move on to the next level of identification. It is very fascinating to me how fast toddlers grow and grasp concepts. I learned from these activities that my toddlers like playing with glue sticks. It turned into a lesson on how and where to apply the glue and they loved it.

Skydiving @ Skydive Utah

Skydiving has ALWAYS been on my bucket list, so when Duncan Stevens said he wanted to go after his graduation, Nick and I were automatically on board!

The only time we had was Memorial day so we reserved the earliest spot a month in advance. On the day of we called bright and early to make sure they were still jumping because there were scattered rain showers. We got the green light so we got ready and hit the road.

We showed up to Skydive Utah at 11:00am and the nerves weren't bad. We all made sure we went to the bathroom before we even went into register. Nick even brought an extra pair of underwear just in case....HAHA.

After the bathroom we had to watch this EPIC video for a little training before we got ready. In the video there was a man. Bill Booth, the creator of the tandem jump harness and system. He has an epic beard that was so long it was distracting me from listening to his VERY important words. After the video we signed our life away and went to get ready.

Nick chose not to wear the jumpsuit because he was wearing his worn out jeans, where as I was wearing the only pair I own, so I chose to put the jumpsuit on.

Duncan also chose to wear the jumpsuit and he also received a special pair of goggles to fit over his glasses.

A little nervous but so ready to go! As soon as our trainers were ready we got on that little plane and took off. To be honest I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. The staff joked around to keep the mood light and hilarious, that really kept my mind off what I was about to do.

Mike, My tandem partner brought a GoPro Camera along with us even though I didn't ask. He told me I didn't have to purchase the pictures but he liked taking them. I'm so glad he brought it along or I wouldn't have captured these beauties.

Must have reached 13,000 feet because people started jumping.. We started moving.. nervous smile
Too late to turn around!
White knuckles.. he had to pry my hands off my harness because I was supposed to move to the hands up flying stage.
Free falling @ 125 mile per hour!
The view was gorgeous, you could see the Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island.
I got to fly the parachute. We did a lot of whirls and upside down twirls.

The one thing I was even a little worried about was landing because I had always heard, "Oh I broke my foot," or "I twisted an ankle" from people who had been skydiving before. We all had beautiful landings because we listened to our instructors. They were so awesome and had lots of experience.

Anyone who plans on skydiving in this life... JUST DO IT!! It is so worth it and it is an experience you will never forget. I'm so glad that we chose to go with Skydive Utah because a good company can make or break your experience (no pun intended).
