E-World

Welcome to E-world!!!! This beautiful castle is the first thing you see when you walk up off the street. After you purchase your tickets and enter the park you get to ride the escalators (if you are lucky) to the top of the hill. When you reach the top you will be glad to see this HUGE robot (Praise the frog)
Nick is happily posing under the robot playing this game... oh and another fun game to play if you are bored is here.

As we walked around with the Talbot family we rode several rides (most of them meant for little kids) E-World is like a large carnival but not like Six Flags or Bush Gardens. If you look you can see Woobang tower (looks like it is coming out of the robots head) You can also see the platform that people bungee jump off of. I haven't decided yet if bungee jumping is for me or not. If I wanted to do it, Korea would be a great place.

My favorite part of E-world was the ghost house. It was so horribly done that it was funny. I couldn't stop laughing the whole time. Nick was walking next to me feeling "uneasy" the whole time and I was laughing. Right as we entered two small girls came in behind us. There ages were about 10 and 8. Anyways, I decided I wanted to have a little fun so I started making noises and it freaked them out. I laughed so hard, I'm glad they started laughing with me. At some point we caught up to a couple that was moving really slow. As soon as the opportunity came available I scared the crap out of them. The girl screamed which made everyone behind us start screaming. Once again I was laughing so hard, in fact I am laughing now as I recount this experience. So, we kept walking and walking and we got to this really dark area and I was staring into the blackness and this Korean pops out screaming. OF COURSE I SCREAMED and so did the people behind us. We all started laughing and I gave the guy a high five. When we escaped the awful haunted house the little girls ran to their mother and told her everything they just witnessed and we were on our way to our next ride.

The famous log ride- This was the longest line we had to stand in the whole day, and it wasn't a very good ride but short and the drop was like..oh come on I didn't even get wet!

Aladdin fun house... I wasn't sure if they allowed adults but the kids kept tugging at us. They let us through no problem and we were off. We finished the fun house by going down a pretty awesome slide.

Hot-air balloons- were pretty fun, I felt that it was okay to get on them because I had a child with me. However if that was not the case I'm not sure if I would have done it.

They had a total of 4 roller coaster with only 3 running. The good news is we didn't have to wait very long in the lines. One coaster even let us go twice in a row.

On our way out Nick wanted to win my love by playing a shooting game. He hit the target 7 times and won me this cute hedge hog. I have convinced Nick, that when we get home from our adventures in Korea, I can have a real hedge hog!

On our way out of the park we decided to stop at the gift shop and grab some cute headbands. I feel in love with the giraffe one and Heather looked super cute in the leopard ears.

I will leave you with this random picture of an advertisement? we saw in the subway.
if you are thinking he is holding a rag and bleach you are correct!

Daegu

One of our favorite places to visit is Daegu because we love the people there. We also love the shopping and GREAT places to eat as well.

We have started a Korean language class every Saturday taught by the missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We love the class, it has taught us so much! We now know how to introduce ourselves , say things that we like (Simple sentence, I like ____) and where we are from. We have also learned how to ask question to a bus driver and how to tell a taxi where we need to go. This week we learned a few key phrase for when we go out to eat. We have started learning Hongul which I find difficult at times.I'm looking forward to the future classes and hope they continue to be as awesome as they have been!

Some fun things we have stumbled upon during our weekends in Daegu are priceless.
This man jumped out of the subway and into the crowd of people. When we noticed, HOLY MOLY HE HAS LIVE BIRDS ON HIS HAT!  Nick ran to catch up so he could snag this picture. We were stopped by another couple who asked us to email it to them. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity (people are weird)

Another time in Daegu Nick and I were on a much needed date night. We are with each other 24/7 but still needed a date. We watched Star Trek and then walked around downtown Daegu and found this awesome show in the middle of the street. It was pretty awesome. The men had little routines they did with different swords. I liked it when they fought each other.

When they finished everyone rushed to the swordsmen to get a picture with them. Nick and I decided to get a picture with the guy playing his shell.. I love the shell and have seen it in many performances in Korea. This guy let us play his. I didn't think twice!!!

Daegu  is a lot of fun! We plan to explore it more this summer, hopefully we will get to E-world soon. E-World is a kids fun park that has roller coasters and waterslides. We also want to explore more around our little town. There is a lot to see and do there as well. I think it will be easier now that we have gone half-in with another couple for a scooter. We are looking forward to our future explorations and picnics.

Our fields are really changing. Most of the onions and garlic are harvested and they are planting rice. It is AWESOME to walk by because of the creatures you see swimming in the water. I found a TON of tadpoles in one field. I ran home to wake nick up so he could come see. When he came we got a closer look and they weren't tadpoles. They are called tadpole shrimp click here to see what they are.
This is the cool tractor that plants the rice. It is fun to watch it go and stab them into the water filled soil.

It is getting really hot here, and I am told monsoon season will be soon. I thought that the humidity wouldn't be worse than Alabama but I think it is. I sweat as soon as I go outside!!! NOT COOL!! It makes taekwondo hard as well.

Other than the heat and the soon to come bugs from the rice fields everything is going great!

We want to let our Father's know how much we love and care about them. You all have helped us become who we are and we are eternally grateful!

Well that about sums up this post! Bye for now!

Okcheon Hiking

Hiking and I usually get along pretty well, this hike kicked my butt!! We had an unusual week at CEV because Thursday was Memorial Day (No School)  the other teachers got to do what I think is the best thing in the world TEACH KINDERGARTEN for two days. I was so jealous that I was stuck in Cyber School while they were doing the thing I love.  I was thankful that we did a group picture and I was able to use my new Korean speaking skills with a few of the students.

Friday Richard took us to Okcheon where we saw a nice temple and then proceeded to hike to the Buddha. I was warned that the hike was straight up, but it was short. I realize now that I should have taken pictures of the STAIRS (if you can call them that) so you would realize that only giants were capable of walking them. Lucky for me I work with some (you can read their blog here). When I finally reached the top it was so beautiful I didn't want to jump down. Here are some picture of the view!
At the temple. The mountains we were in were so gorgeous.
