I am so happy that this day has come. Nick has worked very hard to get to this point. I know because I have watched him go through his ups and downs. Some people thought that it would never happen, well he proved them wrong.
Nick didn’t graduate with honors from the college because he didn’t complete 3 golden contracts. He was invited into an honor society though and he graduated with that. They gave him some ropes and a pin to wear. I have never seen Nick so nervous and excited at the same time. I really wanted to celebrate this WONDERFUL time so I planned a party for him.
I themed it around Nick’s favorite food and his degree, psychology. The cake had ink blots on it and was AWESOME! We had Iceberg Lemonade, cute caps made with Rolos and Hersey chocolate bars, eatable diplomas, and Cookies.
As the people arrived they received a tag with a prisoner number then they had to pick a personality and then act it. It was a lot of fun. Everyone was acting their part, and Nick made me guess what their issues were. We had a lot of fun. We also played the cookie game where you had to put a cookie on your forehead and get it to your mouth without your hands.
We also played the dancing game on the Wii... Here are the boys having fun (Daniel, Nick, Ben, and Duncan)
I think the hardest thing about Nick graduating was the
question of “Now what?” Nick didn’t get accepted to any college for grad
school. WCU turned down his application because it was incomplete. We found out
that the head of the psychology department didn’t turn in his recommendation
for Nick therefore, it was incomplete. We are confused because we have no idea
what our future holds.
