Leigh got married on August 4th. It was beautiful
and I am very proud to be her sister. In fact I learned a very important
lesson. Leigh had fallen in love with a bridesmaid dress that didn’t have
sleeves. When we ordered it, it looked like it had some sleeve to it and we
agreed that maybe we could alter it somehow. I tried it on for her and long story short it wasn’t enough sleeve for me. We ended up in a
huge fight because I needed sleeves and they didn’t understand. We screamed and
yelled because I wasn’t going to roll my garments for my sister. Well I prayed
and prayed about how to handle the whole situation and I talked to my sister
again and again without yelling. We came to the conclusion to try to put some
kind of sleeve on it, so the next time I was in bama I took my dress to have it
altered. I picked my dress up a week before the wedding and the sleeves her
hideous. You could still see my garments underneath and it was just plane
ugly!!! Leigh came over to help me make her fans for the reception and she saw
it. I can’t even describe her face. I told her not to worry about it. I called
my other sister Arielle and asked what she was going to do about it and we came
up together that we were going to just tuck our garments. The day went by fast
and at the end of it all I was just very thankful that it was over.
Today (middle of September) I realized something. There wheren't a lot of pictures taken of bridesmaids. Leigh had complained
about it and it should have clicked with me then but it didn’t. I am glad that
there wasn’t a lot of pictures because I felt bad enough as it was I didn’t
want to remember the decision I had to make that day.
